Week 3-1 Can Eating Insects Save the World?
Week 3-1 Can Eating Insects Save the World?
A long time ago I
saw a video about Thai people eating insects. I know that people in many places
now have the habit of eating insects. Can insects protect the earth? My current
life is far from the theme of hunger, and it is impossible to imagine people in
other places taking insects as food. The video mentions that under the premise
of climate change, 11% of the world's people face hunger, and food security has
become the biggest problem today.
Insects can solve
the problem of global hunger. Everyone can have forty tons of insects. They are
also sustainable. For example, cockroaches can survive on wheat stalks instead
of consuming grains like the meat we usually eat. And the cultivation of
insects will not damage the environment.
I understand that
eating insects can have so many advantages, and now there are so many people in
the world who are hungry. Maybe one day I will try to eat insects and
experience different tastes and life, especially when I go to Thailand.
